Rainbow and Stars

It was the rainbow that gave me love;
every lovely hue pleases the eye .
The rainbow and the stars above
never mingle, yet dwell in the same sky.

Yonder green trees keep me company,
to see me through each lonely day !
Would that you were here with me
and not  many thousands miles away !

The wind that leaves the doors ajar
finds comfort in the whispering leaves .
Now that you and I   are afar,
will you sing me this song , Green Sleeves ?

My rainbow sends me wishes so bold
from stars that shine like fire.
But night comes and the winds are cold;
you beauty vanishes, so  I retire .

It was the rainbow that gave me love;
every lovely hue a tale to tell .
The rainbow and the stars above,
I see them ; I  need not  say farewell !

THE RAINBOW AND ME

The colored rainbow gives  me spans of love
and  vibrant hues now drop a  vivid  tale.
The rainbow spans an arc of stripes above.
It lightens up the sky , the sea and  vale.

 On rainy days  , it calls me  to a  spree
to probe its mystic ,  bubble  for a while.
I   tread through clouds and climb the rainbow tree
and down again the other end in style.

The carefree wind  outside  the door  ajar
awakes the owls above  the old oak  leaves
with  echoes  of  a chorus from afar .
It  wafts to me a melody  , Green Sleeves .

The rainbow  sends me fond refrains  of old
from sky of azure , cute  songs of   ding-dong.
Its presence there most   wondrous to behold.
Enthralled,  I watch it , wellspring of  a song .

The colored rainbow gave me spans of love.
Each vibrant hue now drops a vivid tale .
The rainbow spans an arc of stripes above.
I see it light the black of solar wells.
