It's an Empty Meadow !
When green
grass of yonder meadow turns pink ,
and straw-berries curve green-threaded branches;
When
the tropical sunlight makes you blink ,
and I'm away at the parish , you
see
An empty meadow !
Oh empty valley ,
empty meadow !
That were once patched by the sun
Now as I look out of my window .
To where the deer and foxes
run .
It's an empty meadow !
What if the morning and evening stars
appear together
in the worn- out sky .
What if you venture to the lonely Mars.
whose surreal beams makes the moonlight
shy.
It's an empty meadow !
Oh empty valley , empty meadow
!
That were once patched by the sun
Now as I look out of my window .
To where the deer and foxes run
.
It's an empty meadow !
When at last you think of returning home,
to where the sun has lost its beams
.
Tell me, where the trade wind makes you roam
You return not to this vale for so long .
It's
an empty meadow
Oh empty valley , empty meadow
!
That were once patched by the sun
Now as I look out of my window .
To where the deer and foxes run
.
It's an empty meadow !
Tonight we watch shadows flicker and dance
Beneath the tree
, beneath the moon .
We exchange with each other a fond glance .
Then turn our gaze to
our empty meadow.
